Highways, tall trees and getting to an Edina job
Highway 100, Highway 62 and Interstate 494 touch or border the city, so most parts of Edina are easy to reach from Minneapolis, although rush hour backs up on the main corridors. Residential streets are often lined with large trees, and some properties have long drives or limited turnaround space for a dumpster and a delivery truck.
Those trees matter for the roof. Branches drop leaves and seeds into valleys and gutters, shade keeps north-facing slopes damp and moss or algae can follow. In a hard Minnesota winter, clogged gutters and thin attic insulation can combine to build ice at the eaves. A roof plan that ignores the surroundings usually has to be revisited sooner than expected.
